Version 1 of The Forum Code: Consultation

On September 13 2022, the forum shall exit its 6-month 'beta' or 'test' period. One consequence of this is that Version 1 (v.1) of The Forum Code shall come into effect, meaning that subsequent changes to it can only be enacted through formal community consent (see §5 of the Forum Code for how this works).

Ahead of this, therefore, this thread is intended as a community consultation on that 'v.1' version of the Forum Code, to ensure that as many necessary improvements as possible can be made before the amendment process becomes much slower. The current draft of 'v.1' is attached here:

Please take a look over this - any changes from v.0.9. are highlighted in bold red text. Any and all suggestions and comments are welcome.

I've updated the draft to v.1 (Draft 2). The only thing different here is the wording on 2.5.C.3. for clarity:

2.5.C.3. ‘New Members’ are barred from the Private and Restricted Forums, such as the Blogs Section.

In addition, I added a clause to attempt to address the issue of lurkers:

2.5.F.4. Founder Members without a post count shall be de-ranked to ‘New Members’.

Though this only really applies until the 13th of September (since after that new members will be automatically placed in the 'New Member' rank).

SPECIALEDITION: I searched high and low for some kind of plugin to do that because I was getting irritated with the amount of work it took to post images lol Dec 7, 2022 17:16:16 GMT
